Burger Blog: Brickyard Hollow (Brunswick, ME)

Casey: 7/10. Uninspiring, but not bad. Victim of the "unseasoned" meat. I added salt and pepper and it helped the profile. Would order again, but would likely opt to go elsewhere if I were in the mood for a burger.

Bern: 6.9/10. Boring. No seasoning. Meh. At least it wasn't frozen.

Burger Blog: Frank's (Lisbon Falls, ME)

Casey: 7/10. Needed more seasoning, but otherwise solid. Slightly undercooked.

Bern: 8/10. Definitely not frozen meat. Needed more cheese!

Burger Blog: Black Cow (Portland, ME)

Casey - Double Smash (beef smash patty, American cheese, iceberg, pickles, house mustard, onion, c.t. mayonnaise, black cow bun):  9.5/10. Basically perfect. They didn't just slap a hunk of lettuce on here, they shredded it. Pickles were sour, which I personally love. Seasoning for days, basically perfect - the only critique I have is that the cheese wasn't fully melted.

Bern - Mushroom Swiss (beef smash patty, Swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, bordelaise sauce, black cow bun): 9/10. Loose formation, cheese was good. A little greasy, so the bun was a bit soggy.

Burger Blog: The Pub - Baxter Brewing (Lewiston, ME)

Double smash...

Casey: 7.5/10. Decent. Burger seemed dense for a smash, but was flavored well.

Bern:  7/10. Wanted a better cheese profile.

Burger Blog: Nocturnem (Bangor, ME)

Nocturnem burger with bacon, caramelized onions and taleggio cheese.

Casey: 9.5/10. Unbelievable flavor with the grass-fed beed and toppings. Bun held up and the seasoned tots were delish.

Bern: 9.2/10. Onions + cheese were perfect, as was the seasoning and bun. Wish it had more cheese, but virtually perfect.

Burger Blog: Solon Hotel (Solon, ME)

Casey: 7.5/10

Pub burger - beer cheese, BBQ sauce, bacon, and onion ring with pretzel bread.

Had high hopes as I recall their burger being great when I tried it over a year ago. Unfortunately, this burger was overcooked, so the patty was virtually dry (despite all of the accoutrements). Had they made it medium rare, I think this would've charted high. Will try again...

The side of honey mustard was great for dipping the pretzel bun.

Burger Blog: Fat Boy's (Brunswick, ME)

Whoper Burger, $5.99. Double patty with lettuce, tomato, and special sauce.Yes, it's spelled Whoper...

Casey: 5/10. We saw a recommendation online for the burger. Nothing to see here, but basically two frozen patties with lettuce, cheese, tomato and "special sauce," which is likely the BK Whopper sauce.

Bern: 4/10. The only thing good about this burger was the special sauce. The frozen patties, no pickles, and no seasoning was disappointing.

Burger Blog: Hopper's (Apple Valley Golf Club in Lewiston, ME)

Smash Burger single 13 / double 15: caramelized onion, American cheese, pickle, aioli, mustard, toasted brioche bun.

Casey: 9/10. Nearly perfect. The bottom bun basically disintegrated with all the juicy awesomeness, which was the only flaw. Although not listed, they added a touch of horseradish which took it to the next level

Bern: 9/10. Perfect amount of horseradish, flavored well, liked the bun.

Burger Blog: Owl and Elm (Yarmouth, ME)

Scullery Burger / Single 18 / Double 22 / Triple 25: Smoked patty, lettuce, house pickles, smoked cheddar, special sauce, brioche bun, hand-cut fries

Casey: 10/10! Perfection. Smoked brisket, perfectly seasoned. Only regret is that I split a double with Bern instead of eating it all myself! Bern and I split a double.

Bern: 10/10! Perfect.
