Pizza from Monte's Fine Foods in Portland, ME

Basic Pepperoni, 14" for $23.

Casey: 5/5. Perfection. Wouldn't change anything. Tangy sauce, tons of flavorful roni.
Bern: 9.5/10. Perfect sauce, lots of roni, fresh mozzarella. Delicious!

Pizza from Pizza Villa in Portland, ME

Casey: 3/5. Not bad, more of a frozen pizza vibe. Better sauce coverage would have upped the score, but nothing to write home about.

Bern: 6/10. No flavor. Crust was just okay. Not enough sauce.

Pizza from Pizzaiolo in Portland, ME

 ~$5 per generous slice...

Casey: Roni, 4/5. Nearly perfect, but suffered from my pet peeve of too much crust/toppings ratio. Crispy crust, flavorful.

Bern: Buffalo Chicken, 8/10. Lots of toppings, good crust, spicy, huge slice.

Pizza from Coals in Portland, ME

Dean Martin ($18): fontinella, fresh mozzarella, tomato, pepperoni, pecorino

Casey: 5/5. Perfection! Thin crust, three cheeses, large ronis. Flavor galore.

Bern: 9.6/10. Love the real sauce, perfect char. Not usually a fan of thin crust, but would recommend.

Pizza from Slab in Porltand, ME

In Gordon Ramsey's best voice, "It's fucking RAW!"

pepperoni slab: tomato sauce, mozzarella, provolone, oregano, pepperoni ($11)

Casey: 1/5. Absolutely raw in the center due to the thick crust; this was chewy, not crunchy. Gross. Ended up scraping the toppings off, which were okay. Would not return.

Bern: 1/5. Too doughy. Too sweet. Not very flavorful. Kind of gross.

Pizza from Fire & Ice in Windham, ME

14" Pepperoni ($17)

Casey: 5 out of 5! Greasy, salty, toppings galore and toppings to the edge of the pie. Thin crust with almost no flop and crispy! Sure, you can see the grease pooling up in the cupped roni, but this lit my taste buds on fire...

Bern: 6 out of 10. Too salty. The end.

Trivia Night at Olive Pit Brewing!

(We lost a rock-paper-scissors tiebreaker!!! F%ck!)

Pizza from Pat's Pizza in Brunswick, ME

Casey: 9" Pepperoni ($9.75), 5 out of 5! Big fan of crunchy, thin crust, so this hit the spot. Toppings to the edges, great flavor. Wouldn't change anything.

Bern: 9" Reuben (Canadian bacon and sauerkraut , $11), 5 out of 5! Bern usually doesn't like thin crusts, but she does now. Flavors were perfection on both pizzas (Casey thinks the sauerkraut tasted more like broccoli). A classic we would return to again and again.
